The ExICalendar library implements the iCalendar data format, as defined by the Internet Calendaring and Scheduling Core Object Specification
(RFC 5545). This standard enables the exchange of calendaring and scheduling information,
such as events, to-dos, journal entries, and free/busy details, independent of any specific calendar service or protocol. Designed as a MIME-based
content type, the iCalendar format is widely used as an exchange mechanism between applications and systems.
The ExICalendar library extends this functionality by providing ICS file handling and recurrence support, and it seamlessly integrates with components
such as eXCalendar, eXSchedule, eXGantt, and eXG2antt.
